Biology has two main branches - Botany (the study of plants) and Zoology (the study of animals). The biology department studies life at all levels, from molecules to ecosystems, to understand the evolution, structure, maintenance, and dynamics of living systems. Our teaching provides an integrative and conceptual foundation for the life sciences.

Our biology lab is very spacious and has adequate furniture and equipment for students to do their practical work comfortably. We have microscopes, a large collection of slides, specimen jars with plants and animals, colorful charts, and a full-size human skeleton. The biology lab allows students not just to learn the subject, but also appreciate the natural world.

Some of the key biology topics we cover are:

  • Reproduction in organisms

  • Sexual reproduction in flowering plants

  • Human reproduction

  • Reproductive health

  • Heredity and variation
